Gabrielle Slater-Blair (Gabi), Lawyer

Gabi is a family lawyer called to the bar in 2025. Prior to entering the legal profession, she built her career in the human services sector, working both internationally and domestically on human rights initiatives. Through her work with NGOs and international organizations, she contributed to policy development and advocacy focused on sexual and gender-based violence and reproductive health and rights.

A consistent theme throughout Gabi’s career has been her commitment to supporting individuals through complex and often overwhelming life experiences. This path led her to Luke’s Place Support and Resource Centre for Women and Children, where she worked as a Family Court Support Worker assisting women experiencing intimate partner violence as they navigated the family court system. It was through this work that Gabrielle was first introduced to family law and developed a deep connection to the field. She later articled at Luke’s Place, where she continued to build her advocacy skills and commitment to trauma-informed, client-centered practice.

Today, Gabi practices family law with a genuine passion for both family and human rights law, and a growing interest in immigration law. She approaches her work with empathy, care, and a focus on helping clients move forward with clarity and confidence.

Outside of her practice, Gabi enjoys eating delicious food, travelling to new places, and listening to true crime podcasts.
